User management - custom roles

Learn how to create and assign custom roles to users within your dashboard for more effective user management and administration.

Apart from standard roles Shift4 Dashboard offers a possibility to create an unlimited number of custom roles. Unlike standard ones, they can be edited or deleted through Manage Users option. Custom roles are assigned to a merchant account.

There are two ways to create a custom role:

  • through Manage Users button
  • upon inviting a new user

Scope of custom roles

Customization allows to limit user's privileges to view or to edit almost every tab in your dashboard and accounts settings individually.
